3. Step-by-Step Cashless Hospitalization Process

1

Consultation & Surgical Recommendation

Visit our hospital in APHB Colony, Moula Ali. Our eye surgeon performs comprehensive examinations, confirms the diagnosis (e.g. cataract), and recommends the surgical plan.

2

Pre-Authorization Submission

Our in-house insurance desk fills out the cashless pre-authorization form and submits it electronically along with diagnostic reports directly to your TPA / insurance portal.

3

Initial Approval Sanction

The insurance company issues an initial approval letter detailing the sanctioned cashless package amount. We schedule your convenient surgery day.

4

Daycare Surgery & Discharge

The procedure is performed in our sterile modular OT. Final billing is settled directly between the hospital and your insurer — you pay only non-medical consumables or lens upgrades not covered by your policy tier.

4. Checklist of Documents to Bring Along

Please bring the following original documents and two photocopies:

Health Insurance Card or Policy Copy
CGHS Card / Pensioner Book (if applicable)
Aadhaar Card of Patient and Proposer
PAN Card of the Policyholder
Doctor's Prescription & Investigation Slips
Employee ID (for Corporate Group Insurance)

5. Eye Procedures Eligible for Cashless Coverage

Most health insurance policies cover daycare eye surgeries that take under 24 hours of hospitalization due to advanced technology:

Cataract Surgeries (MICS & Phaco)

Covered under almost all policies up to specified policy sub-limits (e.g. standard monofocal packages or proportional coverage for premium multifocal/toric lenses).

Glaucoma Surgeries & Lasers

Trabeculectomy, laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI), and valve implants for unmanaged intraocular pressure.

Vitreo-Retinal Laser & Injections

Retinal photocoagulation for diabetic retinopathy and anti-VEGF therapies (subject to policy pre-approval).

Ocular Trauma & Pterygium Excision

Emergency corneal laceration repairs, foreign body removals, and pterygium autograft surgeries.

6. Frequently Asked Questions (Cashless Eye Hospitalization)

Can I get a premium Multifocal or Toric lens under CGHS or insurance?

Yes. CGHS or your insurance policy will cover the approved standard cataract package and base lens cost. If you choose to upgrade to a premium Toric (for astigmatism) or Multifocal / EDOF lens, you only pay the incremental lens cost difference directly.

What if my insurance company is not listed?

If your policy is through an insurer with whom direct cashless is temporarily offline, you can still claim 100% reimbursement. Our insurance desk prepares comprehensive discharge summaries, verified invoices, and surgical operation notes to ensure swift reimbursement approval.

Is 24-hour hospitalization required for cataract surgery insurance claims?

No. Under IRDAI guidelines, modern daycare procedures like Phacoemulsification cataract surgery do NOT require 24 hours of bed rest. Daycare claims are fully recognized and approved.
